            Benefits Known Since Antiquity

The olive tree appeared in the 12th millennium BCE in Asia Minor. However, it was from the 6th millennium BCE that its cultivation gradually spread throughout the Mediterranean basin with the advance of the Roman legions and the annexation of conquered territories.

A phenomenon later reproduced by the Spanish in their Latin American colonies.

The benefits of Olive Oil have been known since Antiquity, as Egyptians, Greeks, and Romans used it not only for cooking but also in beauty and cosmetic products.

In Egypt, aromatic plants were macerated in olive oil for perfume and to soften the skin after bathing.

In Greece, athletes, particularly during the Olympic Games, used it to loosen muscles before competition. Hippocrates, Pliny the Elder, Dioscorides, Averroes, and Avicenna used it medicinally in the form of proprietary preparations.

Some of their balms were used more for comfort than medical purposes… so we can imagine that, perhaps unintentionally, they were the precursors of olive oil-based cosmetology.

Oleic acid (from Latin oleum: olive oil) is the most abundant monounsaturated fatty acid in our body.
It is the main acid of the "Omega 9" family.

Unlike Omega 3 and Omega 6, Omega 9 are not considered "essential": the human body can synthesize them from certain foods, including olive oil.

Indeed, Olive Oil is naturally rich in antioxidants (vitamin E), provitamin A, chlorophyll, and monounsaturated fatty acids:

            • Vitamin E does not disrupt cellular programming, the main cause of aging (unlike polyunsaturated oils such as sunflower oil). On the contrary, it increases the stimulation of the body's natural defenses.
            • Provitamin A promotes cell regeneration.
            • Chlorophyll, whose molecular structure resembles hemoglobin, has a remarkable effect on overall vitality and supports cell growth.
            • Monounsaturated fatty acids, considered "good fats", have been extensively studied and proven – under certain absorption conditions – to have numerous health benefits.

Olive Oil is the only oil obtained by pressing the fruit: it takes 4 to 10 kg of olives to produce 1 liter of oil!

Vincent M.® has specially selected for his cosmetic line a 100% ORGANIC, extra virgin, first cold-pressed olive oil so that it retains all its properties.

This oil from organic farming is particularly rich in monounsaturated fatty acids and its nutritional qualities are fully preserved.

It is certified "Organic" by "ECO-CERT", a private organization accredited by the National Institute of Origin and Quality.

Unlike industrial farming, where soil degradation leads to denatured fruit (olives are fruits) and the use of fertilizers and pesticides causes indirect consumption of heavy metals (lead, cadmium, etc.) toxic to our body, Vincent M.® works with a producer who uses an extremely refined method to extract exceptional quality olive oil meeting organic certification. Strict standards are followed at every stage of production.

This Organic Olive Oil is then carefully incorporated, according to know-how that combines tradition and modernity, into Vincent M.® products so your skin can fully benefit from its properties.

The resulting organic product is therefore a high-quality product.

This Olive Oil can be used on all skin types and over the whole body:

            • It perfumes, massages, protects, softens, and prevents skin dryness.
            • It nourishes dry or rough areas of the body: elbows, knees, hands, and feet.
            • It leaves the body smooth and soft.

Its warming and soothing properties make it a highly appreciated massage oil.
